21st century muslimah!

Salaam xox
i know its been like forever + a day since ive blogged but am back =]. So i just wanna say that this saturday i went to a youth seminar in Euston and it was fab mashallah. I am soo sorry i should have advertised it before the day so you sisters in Britain would have  had the chance to come because there were soo many sisters there mashallah from all over britain.
It was quite a political event in that there was basically a pannel of the 'hizb ut tahrir' women that spoke about the situation is gaza, the hijab, the problems of being a muslimah in the west and islam being considered 'backwards' and bascially what is means to be a 21st century muslimah. They made it aware that the shield that has always protected islam (khalifas) is basically gone now and if we dont stand up and act, islam will eventually be nothing but a spiritual belife and not a way of life. They were a bunch of very inspirational sisters; cambridge doctor, lawyers, writes, mothers. I really enjoyed it. there was like 200 sisters there and the atmosphere was really moving mashallah. So yer, i just thought id share that with you, and i also bought a book there called 'the islamic state' and when i finish it i'll do a review on that inshallah cause its suppose to be really good. i am a politics sutdent anyway so its nice to link what i do in college to Islam. It just feels more rewarding :D
